FAQ
Before we start making.
Quick answers about files, design, materials, timing, quantities, shipping, and business orders.
What files do you accept?
STL, 3MF, OBJ, STEP, and common image or document formats are welcome. If you have something else, send it—we’ll confirm whether it can be used or converted.
Can you design something from scratch?
Yes. A sketch, measurements, reference photos, or a clear explanation can be enough to start a CAD project. Design time is quoted separately from production.
How long does printing take?
Simple print-ready projects may take several business days; design-heavy, large, detailed, or multi-part work takes longer. Every quote includes a turnaround expectation before you approve it.
What materials do you use?
Common choices include PLA, PETG, flexible TPU, and resin, with other materials considered when the project calls for them. We’ll recommend a material based on appearance, strength, heat, flexibility, and use.
Can you make multiple copies?
Yes. Japa Works can produce one-offs and short runs. Quantity can reduce per-piece setup cost, and the quote will show the best production approach.
Do you ship?
Yes, many projects can be shipped. Cost and delivery timing depend on destination, size, weight, and packaging. Local pickup may also be arranged when available.
Can you recreate something from photos?
Often, yes. Multiple clear angles plus at least one known measurement create the best starting point. Exact replication depends on geometry, hidden details, and how the object needs to function.
Can you do commercial or business orders?
Yes. Prototypes, fixtures, replacement components, branded pieces, sales models, and small production runs are welcome. Include quantity, deadline, and repeat-order needs in the request.
